Ping Services stop and restart every few seconds
We have identified a situation where, following an install of Ping, the services will stop and start every few seconds. One of the root causes of this is an unsupported version of NodeJS, and associated version of NPM. When installing on an existing server, be it the Qlik server or any other, then it is not unusual that a previous NodeJS deployment has been trailed or is running on that machine. Therefore NodeJS will already be installed and may not be an appropriate version for Ping.
If you are seeing this service restart behaviour following an install please check that you are using the recommended version of NodeJS for Ping. The following versions are supported at this time and we will do further testing to see which other versions are not supported (and update this page as necessary).
We are continually testing our product to check which NodeJS versions are supported, For the latest versions of NodeJS we are currently in the process of validating out code updates in our upcoming major version to ensure full support.
